In this workshop
students are taught a traditional pastel
painting technique. Working with live models,
students will explore drawing, composition,
anatomy, proportion, value, color, and pastel
application. Emphasis will be on developing form
using light and shadow. For those wanting to
speed up and become less tight in their work,
this is an excellent class to take. Students do
not need prior pastel experience. Some
demonstration and lots of individual attention
are available in this workshop. Some drawing
would be helpful, but not imperative.
Margaret Dyer is a gifted artist who teaches
with clarity and enthusiasm sharing her love of
the figure and the medium of pastel. Her small
works and studies are posted on an ongoing blog,
these gems lead to larger work which is in
demand by numerous galleries. See more of
Margaret’s Work at her websites.
